Beads of Hope raises $268,000 for Habitat for Humanity

In late February 2010, Trollbeads released the Haiti Empowerment Bead Collection, Beads of Hope, in support of Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to provide housing for 50,000 low-income Haitian families over the next five years. Trollbeads and Lund Trading are pleased to announce the results of the Beads of Hope program — a donation of $268,000.

This collection of vibrant, colorful glass beads reflect the culture of the Haitian people, and the beads’ message of love and support was meant to help strengthen all those affected by the catastrophic earthquake in January.

The Haiti Empowerment collection joined over 500 interchangeable Trollbeads, which are handcrafted from the finest quality raw materials including 18K gold, sterling silver, Italian-quality glass, natural pearls, precious stones, and Swarovski crystals.  Every piece has its own story inspired by love, nature, mythology, and the diversity of the world around us.

This exclusive line of beads has underscored a commitment to charitable causes by Lund Trading, the exclusive North American distributor of Trollbeads. In addition to their support for Habitat for Humanity, Lund Trading’s Beauty with a Cause program has raised more than $500,000 for breast cancer research since October 2009.

Beauty with a cause.

Lund Trading is pleased to announce the release of the Trollbeads Empowerment bead collection. This exclusive line of beads underscores Trollbeads’ commitment to charitable causes.

The initial offering of pink and white Empowerment beads will be released in October 2009, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Lund Trading, in partnership with Trollbeads Denmark, our retailers and sales representatives, will donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of each Empowerment bead to organizations dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.

In order to include all consumers in this worthy cause, Trollbeads has designed Empowerment beads to fit competitors’ bracelets as well as our own. It is our hope that the beads’ message of love and support will strengthen all those affected by this disease.

Trollbeads is proud to offer these Empowerment beads in support of breast cancer awareness and research. Half of all proceeds from the sale of these beads go directly to this important cause. There are 10 exclusive, limited edition beads that have been designed to work with Trollbeads and other beaded bracelets. We thank you for your support. Beads pictured may vary from the actual beads.

The People’s Bead Contest

Trollbeads and Lund Trading are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2009 People’s Bead contest is Suzanne Hopping’s Pax bead. Pax, coming from the Latin word for peace, is a simple yet powerful “symbol of peace in the world today…designed to spread the message of tolerance regardless of nationality, race or religion.”

The People’s Bead contest challenged Trollbeads fans to design a bead that was “inspired by people, selected by people, and designed by one person – you,” to be released as part of the 2009 Autumn Collection. More than 8,000 submissions flooded into Trollbeads Headquarters in Denmark. On June 1st 2009, ten finalists were selected from those submissions and voting began. For the next two weeks, Trollbeads fans from all over the world voted for their favorite bead. When the dust settled on June 15th, Hopping’s Pax bead was the winner.

Suzzane Hopping is a graphic designer from Sydney, Australia, who had never designed a bead before the contest. Suzanne’s decision to use peace as a subject is far from insignificant. “Peace is something I hold close to my heart as my mum and dad met in a Nazi concentration camp in Germany during WWII, and I am very well aware of the suffering they went through.” In an attempt to choose a subject that “connects, involves and resonates with every person on earth in some way,” Suzanne accomplished just that and became Trollbeads 2009 People’s Bead contest winner.

The Trollbeads Registry takes the concept of a wish list or gift registry to the next level, allowing users to create a limitless number of registries to help organize and expand their bead collection.

Consumers may browse through over 500 interchangeable Trollbeads to select their beads, then create a new registry or add them to an existing registry. The contents of a registry may be e-mailed to friends and family or directly to a Trollbeads retailer.

There is no limit to the number or types of registries that can be created.

Some examples of registries may include:

“Beads I Own”
“Beads I Want”
“Bracelet I Want”
“My (Birthday, Mother’s Day, Anniversary, Graduation…) Wish List”
“Gifts for Others”
“Favorites”

A registry may be marked public, making it easy for friends and family to find the perfect gift. All registries may be searched by users first and/or last names, e-mail address, registry name or ID number,

Even before this announcement had been posted we already had over 600 registries created.

November 2008- Lund Trading announces the launch of the Bracelet Builder

This user-friendly feature allows consumers to design a virtual Trollbeads bracelet that tells their personal story. Users can “drag and drop” beads onto a bracelet, rearrange them to their liking, and see the results prior to purchasing.

A  Trollbeads bracelet may be saved in My Gallery for personal viewing and e-mailing, or posted to the Public Gallery for sharing with others. In the first month alone, over 2,500 bracelets from users all over the world were submitted to the Bracelet Builder. Today that number is closer to 6,000 bracelets created.

Lund encourages Trollbeads fans to include a story about their bracelet and its inspiration along with their submission. All bracelets and stories in the Public Gallery are viewed and rated by others. Once a month, Lund Trading will award a prize to the designer of the highest-rated bracelet!

Trollbeads retailers are finding the Bracelet Builder to be a valuable means of driving new and repeat traffic to their store. Customers print out a bracelet they see online, bring it to their favorite store to purchase, or e-mail it directly to a retailer they find on the Store Locator. Savvy retailers include the Bracelet Builder in their advertising as a fast and convenient way for customers to expand their Trollbeads collection.

If you have not already done so, be sure to explore the Bracelet Builder at www.TrollbeadsUS.com.

March 2008: Montel Williams Show - Friendship

Montel Williams Show: Friendship Airing May 2, 2008

The Make a Wish Foundation along with The Silver Spoon, an event planning company, hosted a party as part of The Living Well Segment of The Montel Williams Show. The Make a Wish Foundation chose M'herdes for the show as she is a 15 year old girl living with lupus. She is very involved at school and in her community.

A Hollwoodesque party was held at The Pink Taco Restaurant in Los Angeles, CA. with plenty of food, activities and, of course, gift bags. Lund Trading contributed gifts for M'herdes and her guests. Lund Trading sent bracelets and trays full of trollbeads for M'herdes and her friends to create their own bracelets. Representatives from Lund Trading and Scandihoovians, a local trollbeads retailer in LA, were on hand to help the young ladies.

At the taping of the show in New York City Lund Trading gave 175 bracelets, decorated with the Friendship bead, to each of the audience members so they can begin to tell their own story with trollbeads.

The party as well as an interview with M'herdes, will air on The Montel Williams Show May 2, 2008.
